FAQS for Nannies & Babysitters
Q. Do I meet the family first?
A. Sometimes this is possible, depending how far in advance job has been booked. We strongly recommend that if you do arrange to meet with the sitter before hand that this is in a public place.
Q. Why do I need a full license?
A. One of our policies is for all of our sitters to have a driver’s license and access to a vehicle. If there was an emergency situation while Babysitting, it is important that you are able to drive the child/ren to seek medical attention.
Q. Why do I have to be over 17 years old?
A. Rockmybaby™ believes that 17 years is a suitable age for people to represent our company and to look after other peoples children.
Q. Why are we interviewed and policed checked?
A.These things are part of a process we follow to help us ensure that we are finding the right babysitters to represent Rockmybaby.
Q. Are my personal details kept confidential?
A. Yes they are. All information about you is kept in our secured part of our site. This information is kept only for reference to the sitting job.
Q. What is the job summary form for?
A. This form has all the information you need to get in contact with the parents and you need to take it to the babysitting job for the parents to fill out. Please ensure that this is already printed out before you reach the venue. To ensure that this form is correctly filled in, it pays to arrive at the babysitting place 15min before the parents need to leave.
Q. Why do I have to fill in a profile page?
A. Your profile will be sent to the parents once you have accepted the babysitting job. This is just to let the parent know a little bit about you.
Q. Am I able to charge a higher hourly rate?
A. No, the rates on the pricing page are the rates you are to be paid and under no circumstances are you to ask for more money.
Q. What are the fuel charges for?
A. If you are required to use your own personal car during your babysitting placement, then you can charge a fuel cost. We recommend at charge of $0.62 per km, please ensure you keep a correct record of distance travelled.
Q. How is payment made?
A. Payment is made to you in cash at the end of the evening/day - in some cases the client may be invoiced for the full amount and your regional office will make payment directly to you. You will need to supply the regional office with confirmation of hours and your bank account.
