TERMS FOR NANNIES & BABYSITTERS

Terms & Conditions for babysitters

To support your safety and uphold organisational standards, it is imperative that you agree to accept the terms and conditions outlined in the document below. Accepting any placement is also instant acceptance of the terms and conditions listed.

Minimum Standards

On acceptance of babysitting booking you must call the Rockmybaby client within 24 hours of accepting the booking. Professional conduct ‘musts’ are outlined below: 

  • Introduction of yourself 
  • Confirm again start/finish time, address/location and directions if required 
  • Discuss any special requirement or care details
  • Confirm the hourly rate paid to you direct at the end of the shift (minimum 3 hours)
  • You are to never turn up to a babysitting placement under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • On absolutely NO occasion are you permitted to have any friends, family or partners on the job with you
  • During your shift, you are the sole responsibility of the Rockmybaby client's children - under NO circumstances are you to leave the children alone. 

It is your responsibility to keep their environment safe and happy. You must always take into consideration that this is not your house/hotel room. You must always respect Rockmybaby client's privacy and leave their environment as you found it. The client's private telephone is not to be used except under emergency situations.

Guidelines for your own safety

  • On arrival at your placement, you must be clear and comfortable of what the client requests.
  • Safety of our sitters is of high importance to us and we want you the sitter, to feel safe and secure at all times. In the unlikely event that you feel threatened or unsafe while at a job, please contact us immediately for support.
  • Have our phone number programmed into your phone, in case you need to call during your babysitting role.
  • Let a friend or relative know exactly where you are and what you are doing, what time you are expected back.
  • Make sure your friend or relative has your number on hand. Keep a charged cell phone with you at all time.
  • Use the job summary form for your own protection. Ensure this form is completed and signed at the beginning of your job placement as it sets out clearly each party’s expectations.
  • As a Rockmybaby sitter you are NOT allowed to make private bookings with Rockmybaby clients. Should this be discovered fees will apply to both you and both parties will be removed from our services.

Cancellation of Babysitting - by a sitter 

  • If you need to cancel a job you have accepted, you must advise us no later than 72 hours before the job is due, this gives Rockmybaby time to find a replacement sitter.
  • If your cancellation is done within 24 hours of the job commencement time you are required to call both Rockmybaby and the client directly. This call to the client is out of courtesy.
  • If you have confirmed a babysitting placement, you are responsible to uphold your commitment to the client and to Rockmybaby. This is important for the reputation of the service provided by Rockmybaby and the rest of the Rockmybaby team.
  • Tax obligations - Rockmybaby is a babysitting agency (not your employer). Therefore you are responsible for paying any tax obligations on your babysitting. We strongly advise you contact IRD to understand your tax obligations - visit www.ird.govt.nz

Terms & Conditions for Nanny Positions (short and long term)

  • If Rockmybaby has put you forward for any nanny positions - you as the Nanny are required to inform Rockmybaby when you are planning to have an interview with the client, and if employment has been offered to you.
  • If you have been put forward to the same nanny position that is advertised via a third party, you must inform Rockmybaby immediately, you must make Rockmybaby aware whether Rockmybaby or the third party put you forward first.
  • As your Nanny and Babysitter Agency we strongly recommend you take out our Rockmybaby® Public & Statutory liability insurance.
