Liss Browne is the visiting teacher for the BOP/Waikato region and currently resides in Hamilton with her partner Dion as they await the arrival of their first child.
Liss holds a Diploma of Teaching (ECE), which she gained during her time at The New Zealand College of Early Childhood Education. By choosing to gain her qualification through correspondence, she was able to work full time in a centre and gain a vast amount of experience about how to support the care and learning needs of children and their whanau.
As a fully registered teacher (#339440) Liss has over 8 years of experience in teaching and supporting the early development and learning of children 0-5.
Based on her learning and experience Liss has come to believe that whanaungatanga (relationships) are at the forefront of all children’s learning journeys and as a result works hard to ensure that relationships between educators, children, whanau and the wider community are fostered.
She believes that each child is unique and has the ability to learn and grow as confident and competent individuals when provided with warm, genuine and caring learning environments. Children are natural learners, so it is up to us as adults, and role models to provide them with the most positive range of learning experiences possible.
