Live In Nanny/Au Pair

A live-in nanny is the term used for a New Zealand person, where as au pair is the term for someone foreign looking for a role of up to a year in childcare. Both roles need to meet the minimum wage or above and are subject to tax and board and lodging deductions. The family on-pay you a sum of money ‘for your pocket’. You will live with the family, have your own separate room and may share a bathroom or have your own. Each role can offer different experiences and ages of children. Like nannies above you may be employed as a ‘private’ live in nanny or au pair, or the family you choose to work with maybe linked onto our homebased service. With all roles such as this, the family may negotiate with you the rate of pay or ‘for your pocket’, or will have pre-determined their financial offer. As with any nanny role you will be made an offer of employment prior to you accepting.
